Online Classroom & Independent Study (parent/guardian led software option)
Content Delivery & Instruction
- Students will be assigned to a home room teacher, who will work directly with the student/parent daily.
- Teachers will hold daily instructional web chats, where students will be invited to attend live or watch the recording on their own schedule.
- Students and teachers may also arrange to meet in small groups for additional academic support. ·
- Davis Connect uses district adopted curriculum. ·
- McGraw Hill Language Arts K-6
- DSD Advantage Math 2-6
- Pearson Investigations Math K-1
- DSD Science and Social Studies K-6
- Students will participate in district standardized testing.
Personalization
- Students can be registered in the course level that fits their individual learning needs.
- Students can work ahead at parents’ discretion.
Time Expectations
- Students can expect to spend an average of 4 hours per day to complete academic course work.
- Students who are behind grade level pacing must participate in small groups for academic support.
- Students can also participate in learning clubs, reading times, and in-person activities.
Accommodations
- Students with a 504 plan or SPED Individualized Education Plan will have accommodations provided.
- Prior to enrolling with Davis Connect, IEP team at the boundary school will meet to determine appropriate service.
Activities
- Optional in-person activities, field trips, STEM and art, will be scheduled in accordance with county health guidelines.
- Students can also participate in learning clubs, reading times, and in-person activities.
