On October 1, Davis Connect K-3 students experienced the wonders of the rainforest right here at the DISC! Representatives from the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium visited and brought the sights, sounds, and smells of the rainforest to life through an engaging, hands-on presentation.

Students first learned about the different layers of the rainforest and the amazing plants and animals that live in each one. They discovered how rainforest creatures survive in their unique habitats and explored the diversity found in such a rich ecosystem.

Then they put their noses to the test during a fun game of "Name the Smell," acted out the movements of rainforest animals, and learned ways that rainforest plants and animals depend on one another.

After seeing a tarantula up close and feeling the soft fur of a sloth, students got to meet Inky, the Aquarium's South American horned frog ambassador animal. These experiences sparked lots of curiosity and questions.

We are grateful to the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium for sharing their knowledge and helping our students experience the wonders of the rainforest in such a memorable way. It was a fantastic day of learning and adventure!
